Australian National Trials

The National Trials for Australian players will take place online thanks to a group of community groups, organizers and individuals who have come together to volunteer their time and expertise this year!

Join us for a historic national trials and esports competition as we call all Australian gamers to put their hand up and try out to be on the national Australian team to the Iasi 2023 Iași 15th IESF World Esports Championships (WEC)!

The Australian national trials will take place over multiple dates, please check the respective game that interests you for complete details on how competition will work.

Regionals

Prior to attending the WEC the qualified players who form the 2023 Australian national IESF team will be required to play out a regional finals against New Zealand and countries from across Asia.

The schedule and format for this is currently still awaiting announcement by the IESF.

Register to Compete

Player registration must be completed prior to being eligible to compete. Additional registration to tournament platforms may be required from game to game, double check each Discord and additional information for each game.

Iași 2023 15th IESF World Esports Championships

The International Esports Federation are hosting the 15th World Esports Championships in the city of Iași, Romania from the 24th August – 4th September, 2023.

The 15th WEC features over 100 countries from across the world sending national teams to represent across multiple game titles including events for CS:GO Opens & Womens, Dota 2 Opens, eFootball Opens, Tekken 7 Opens, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Opens and PUBG: Mobile Opens.

A global prize pool of USD $500,000 will be split across all games, with the final split yet to be announced by the IESF.

Trials Process

The Australian national trials is open to all citizens of Australia and players of any skill level. Players who register to compete must form teams of fellow Australian’s. Once registered players will be required to play through an online qualification process until the top team is found who will then be invited to join the Australian national squad and continue competition in the Commonwealth Esports Championships as part of Team Australia!

Conditions of Entry

  • Entrants must be 16 years or older
  • Must be an Australian Citizen who is currently residing in the Oceania region
  • Must have no flight restrictions within / outside of Australia
  • Own / obtain an Australian passport if selected to represent the nation
  • Must be in good standing with each respective game publisher
  • Must abide by the Code of Conduct and uphold good sportspersonship

Online Qualifiers:

The CS:GO Opens Qualifier will take place online. The top team from this qualifier will be invited to represent Australia at the ASIA Regionals event as a member of the Australian national team.

  • Hosted week nights, may extend over three days depending on sign-up levels
  • Bracket Format: Double Elimination
  • Match Format: Best of 1, Best of 3 for the loser bracket and winners’ final

The CS:GO Womens Qualifier will take place online. The top team from this qualifier will be invited to represent Australia at the ASIA Regionals event as a member of the Australian national team.

  • Hosted week nights, may extend over three days depending on sign-up levels

  • Match Format: Best of 1, Best of 3 for the loser bracket and winners’ final
